The 65-year veteran actor is one of the most popular faces of the Indian Cinema. His dexterity has helped him get exceptional success in both the parallel as well commercial cinema. He graduated in arts from AMU in 1971. His elder brother Lt. General Zameerud-din Shah is currently serving as the Vice Chancellor of AMU. His nephew, Salim Shah who is a renowned film and TV actor himself is also an AMU product. Some of the notable works of Naseeruddin Shah include Mirza Ghalib (1989), a TV series on the great poet, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (A Hollywood film) and Khuda Ke Liye (a Pakistani film). His triumphant stint with Bollywood includes films like Iqbal, Ishqia, Derh Ishqia, Karma, Masoom, Monsoon Wedding, The Dirty Picture, and many more. To his credit, he has three Filmfare awards, Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan.
